What the Kids Games (4 in 1) collection covers
Kids Games (4 in 1) is a set of four separate games aimed at young children, rated 3+. The developer says it can give parents some time to themselves while the child plays, and that the games build logical thinking, musical ability and artistic skill. Each game has its own goal, so a child can move between them without any setup.
The four games are Mosaic, Alphabet, Guessing and Musician. Mosaic and Alphabet are about shapes, colours, letters and numbers. Guessing trains memory and introduces animal names. Musician is the only one built around sound creation.
Building colour pictures in the Mosaic game
In Mosaic, the child assembles a picture from coloured mosaic pieces by copying a sample. The developer says this teaches the basic colours of the rainbow along the way.
A Help button can be pressed at any point. It indicates the spot where the next colour belongs, so a child who gets stuck can keep going without leaving the picture.
Learning letters and numbers with Alphabet
Alphabet asks the child to slide a letter card into its correct position. The developer lists figures (numbers) as part of the same activity.
Each correct placement is spoken aloud in a childish voice, so the child hears the letter as well as seeing it. The developer says this helps with remembering letters by sound.
Memory matching and animal names in Guessing
Guessing is a memory game played with face-down cards. The child turns cards over to find two identical images.
When a pair is found, the name of the animal hidden under those cards is spoken. The developer says this is how the game helps children memorise animal names.
Making melodies with Musician
Musician lets a child, or an adult, put together a melody. The listing says no knowledge of musical notes is needed, and no instrument has to be played.
It is the only game in the set where the output is music rather than a finished picture or a matched card. The developer presents it as a way for both children and grown-ups to try composing.
