Kittysplit is a bill-splitting tool for groups. It covers group trips, vacations and other travel costs, and it also tracks shared money for couples, households and families. Each shared pot is called a Kitty, and it is named after the event or group it belongs to.
The person who starts a Kitty enters the event name and the names of the people taking part. Everything else happens inside that Kitty, so one set of balances covers the whole trip or household.
Once a Kitty exists, its creator shares a unique link. Friends open the link in a browser and add their own expenses to the same Kitty. The developer says they do not need the app installed to do this.
The person who creates the Kitty does not have to hand over personal data to start one, according to the listing. Because the link works in any browser, the rest of the group does not need an account or an install to take part.
As expenses are entered, Kittysplit works out the balances and shows who owes what. It also gives the steps to settle up, so the group does not have to do the arithmetic by hand. The listing says the balances update straight after each expense is added.
The developer states there are no expense limits. A Kitty can hold as many costs as the group needs to record, whether they are for a single weekend or ongoing household spending.
Kittysplit can be used completely anonymously. An account is optional and only needed if the user wants one. The developer also says a basic event will always be free.
The listing does not describe a paid tier beyond the basic event, so the free basic event is the only pricing the developer states.
