A jungle tomb-raiding action game

Lara Croft: Guardian of Light is an action game set in the Mexican jungle, built around Lara's Aztec adventure. The goal is to stop Xolotl, the Keeper of Darkness, who would otherwise leave the world in permanent night.

The route runs through temples, toxic swamps and volcanic caverns, so the game mixes shooting, platforming and puzzle solving. It suits players who want combat and jumping puzzles in the same session.

Shooting with pistols and twin sticks

Lara fights through undead hordes with a pair of pistols, aimed with the twin-stick scheme the game is named for. Weapons can be unlocked as you progress, and superpowered relics add to what you carry.

Combat is the main activity on most levels, with enemies coming at you in groups rather than one at a time.

Puzzles, grapples and chasm jumps

Between fights, levels ask you to leap, grapple and swing across gaps and over chasms. Cunning puzzles and trap-laden challenges sit along the same routes.

Because movement and puzzles share the same space, a single room can require a jump, a grapple and a switch in sequence.

Co-op play, high scores and collectables

You can play the whole game solo, or bring a friend in for co-op. The co-op mode runs online or over a local network.

Each level also carries high scores to beat, optional side objectives and hidden collectables to find. Those extras give a reason to replay levels you have already finished.

Touch and gamepad controls, and what the purchase unlocks

The touchscreen controls can be customised to suit your hands, or you can connect a gamepad instead. Text is available in English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Italiano, Japanese, Português (Brasil) and Русский.

The first two levels are free to play. A single in-app purchase unlocks levels 3 to 14 and all DLC.
