What Letterly is for

Letterly: Write by Voice & AI is an Android app for writing by talking. You record your voice, the app transcribes it, and an AI step rewrites the result into organised text. The listing names messages, notes, social media posts, emails, ideas and plans as the things it is meant for.

The listing also presents the app as a help for people who find typing on a phone keyboard difficult, including users with motor impairments or limited hand mobility.

Turning recorded speech into finished text

You record speech inside the app, and the AI rewrites it into a clear, structured form. The listing says the output usually needs little or no editing before you use it. The rewrite runs on top of the transcript, so the aim is a draft you can send rather than a word-for-word record.

The developer also describes the app as a way to take voice notes and transcribe audio to text, so plain transcription is covered as well as rewritten drafts.

Dictating into messages, emails and documents

Dictation is an optional feature. It places your speech into whichever text field you are typing in, so you can dictate into messages, emails, notes and documents in other apps. The listing describes it as aimed at people with motor impairments or hand-mobility limits.

Each dictation sends your audio to Letterly servers and to transcription and AI service providers, which produce the final text.
