What LightPlay AI is for

LightPlay AI is a viewing app for movies, TV shows, K-dramas, Chinese dramas and documentaries. Its main idea is to show you the story around a title before and after you watch it, not just the title itself.

It suits people who like to know how a show was made, who the cast went on to do, or what a series is about before they commit an evening to it.

Behind-the-scenes pages for each featured show

Each featured show has its own On & off screen page. It collects behind-the-scenes stories and key moments, along with the lines that made those moments memorable. For many shows the page also includes a 3D world you can move around in.

You can open this page before pressing play to get a sense of the story, even if you have never seen the show. The page is also the place to go back to after an episode, when you want context for what you just watched.

Saving moments and reading AI recaps

After an episode, you can save the moment that stood out to you. These saved moments are the app's own record of favourite scenes, and they can be revisited later.

Recaps of those moments are summarized by AI. The app labels each one as AI-generated, so you can tell them apart from written editorial content.

Home screen facts and cast-follow rows

The Home screen shows a different fact about a show each time you open the app. Below that, rows titled Behind the scenes, Where the cast are now and What they did next group cards by those themes.

Tapping any card opens that show's On & off screen page at the matching story point, so a row is a shortcut into the behind-the-scenes material rather than a separate list.

Lumi, the AI chat helper and the You tab

Lumi is a capybara character powered by AI. You can chat with Lumi to get suggestions for what to watch tonight, which is the app's way of helping you choose from the catalogue.

Lumi also has a den that you can visit from the You tab. The listing presents this as a place to spend time with the character, separate from the chat itself.
