Accessibility Service Usage

Limitly uses the Android AccessibilityService API to detect when an app selected by the user is opened and to enforce user-created app limits and Focus Mode restrictions.

The Accessibility Service accesses the foreground app’s package name so Limitly can determine whether that app has reached a limit selected by the user. When a configured limit is reached, Limitly may display its limit screen.

Limitly does not use the Accessibility Service to read screen content, passwords, messages, typed text, one-time passwords, payment information, or other content displayed inside apps. It does not perform clicks, gestures, or actions on the user’s behalf.

Accessibility access is optional and can be disabled at any time through Android Accessibility settings. Without it, app-usage tracking and other available features can still be used, but automatic app-limit enforcement may not function.

Usage Access Permission

Limitly uses Android Usage Access to calculate how long apps have been used and provide screen-time statistics. Usage information is used only for Limitly’s screen-time and app-limit features.

Private and Local

Limitly processes app-usage and foreground-app information locally on your device. This information is not sold, used for advertising, or shared with third parties.
