What Live Microphone Amplifier does
Live Microphone Amplifier is an Android app that takes sound from the phone's built-in microphone or a headset microphone and sends it out louder to headphones or a speaker. The developer, Bizcraft Apps, describes it as a sound amplifier, a hearing amplifier and an audio recorder.
The listed uses are conversations, lectures, meetings and entertainment, all situations where a nearby voice or sound is hard to pick out at its normal level.
Live amplification from a phone or headset mic
Sound is amplified in real time, so the listener hears it as it is picked up rather than from a saved file. You choose the input, either the phone's own microphone or a headset mic, and the amplified sound goes to the output device you select.
The developer also lists live audio playback as a use of the app.
Sending amplified sound to headphones or speakers
The listing names four kinds of output: wired headphones, Bluetooth headphones, a wired speaker and a Bluetooth speaker. It also says you can use the phone's speaker.
Because the output is chosen per session, the same setup can serve a private listener on headphones or a group on a speaker.
Recording audio as well as amplifying it
The developer calls the app an audio recorder, so the same sound pickup can be kept as a recording in addition to being played live.
That makes the app usable for capturing a lecture or meeting while also hearing it louder in the moment.
