Magic Rampage is an action RPG platformer where you fight through castles, swamps and forgotten dungeons to find out what happened to the King. The developer, Asantee Games, describes it as a game with a single-player story that can be played without a connection, a character build system, and real-time combat against other players.
The campaign runs offline. The Competitive leaderboard, duels and the Tavern are the parts that bring in other players. Gamepads, joysticks and physical keyboards are supported, and progress can be carried between devices.
The campaign covers large levels filled with monsters, dragons, ghosts and bosses. Hidden rooms, secret passages and bonus levels are tucked inside it, and the developer says the campaign has been expanding for years.
Allies you meet along the way help you piece the story together episode by episode.
You pick one of 13 classes, including Mage, Warrior, Druid, Warlock, Rogue, Paladin and Thief, each with its own special ability. Weapons include swords, daggers, axes, hammers, spears and magic staves, paired with armor and artifacts.
Gear changes speed, jump and defense as well as damage, so what you carry alters how the character moves. The Skill Tree unlocks powers and passive bonuses. The developer says two players on the same class can end up with very different playstyles.
Each week a new dungeon arrives with its own theme, boss and Golden Chest rewards. It has three difficulty levels, time and star challenges, and extra Rank points for each day it is cleared.
Competitive Mode uses demanding dungeons where every player faces the same challenge, and the global leaderboard ranks the cleanest, fastest runs. Survival sends you into the wildest dungeons, where the longer you last, the more gold and gear you keep.
Ranked and casual 1v1 duels run in real time, with your class, gear and reflexes deciding the match. Duels climb a ladder through each season. The Tavern is a live social hub between battles for meeting players, challenging friends and playing mini-games.
Season Points earned in Duels and Competitive Mode can be spent in the Prize Room on skins for every class. Skins are tied to your account, so any character can wear them. The developer also says optional in-app purchases can be used to obtain some in-game items and currencies alongside regular play.
