What the Marshall Bluetooth app is for
Marshall Bluetooth is the developer's control app for its own Bluetooth speakers and headphones. It is aimed at owners of the models named on its listing, who want to manage those devices from a phone rather than from buttons on the hardware.
The app covers two jobs. The first is basic: connect your device and change the volume. The second is tuning, through equaliser settings and noise control for headphones.
Changing volume and connecting devices from your phone
After you connect a supported speaker or headset over Bluetooth, the volume control moves to your phone. You can turn it up or down from wherever the phone is, without going to the device itself.
The developer says the products work without the app too. Using it is optional, and the app adds control on top of the hardware rather than replacing it.
Equaliser and noise control settings
The equaliser lets you change the balance of the sound for your own taste. The listing describes it as one of the more detailed adjustments, aimed at people who want to fine-tune rather than simply raise or lower the volume.
Noise control is listed for headphones. Five models on the list carry A.N.C. in their names: Milton A.N.C., Monitor III A.N.C., Motif II A.N.C., Motif A.N.C. and Monitor II A.N.C.
Marshall speakers and headphones it supports
The listing names 26 models. The Bromley range covers the 150, 450 and 750. The Acton, Stanmore and Woburn lines appear in both II and III Bluetooth versions. Emberton, Willen, Middleton, Kilburn, Stockwell, Minor, Major, Mode, Motif, Monitor and Milton complete the list, with some models appearing in more than one generation.
If your model is not on that list, the listing does not say the app will control it. Check the model names before relying on the app for a particular device.
