What Marvel HQ is and who it is for
Marvel HQ is a Marvel-themed activity app from StoryToys, aimed at children ages 3 to 8. It gathers Marvel comics, episodes of Spidey and His Amazing Friends, games, drawing tools and a virtual Groot into one place. Most of the content is short activities, so a child can move from a comic to a game to a drawing without leaving the app.
Coding, racing and fact games for early problem-solving
Hulk leads the coding challenges, where children work through simple puzzles. Spidey and his friends appear in racing activities, and Rocket and Groot take children through asteroid fields. The listing says these are meant to build problem-solving and critical thinking.
A separate set of activities covers facts about the Marvel heroes and villains. The developer says these are meant to support memory and general knowledge.
Digital comics and learning to read
The app includes digital Marvel comics and Super Hero stories written to help children learn to read. The listing says the stories include actor support, which is meant to help children read on their own. It also says the aim is to build literacy.
Spidey and His Amazing Friends episodes sit alongside the comics, so a child can switch between reading and watching in the same app.
Coloring, drawing lessons and the Groot pet
Children can color Marvel characters and follow drawing lessons, which come with instructional videos. The listing describes these as a way to build artistic skills and self-expression.
Kids can also take care of a Groot of their own, playing with it and nurturing it over time. This is the app's pet-style feature, separate from the games and comics.
Free content, subscription, offline play and Wear OS
Sample content is free to play. A monthly or yearly subscription unlocks the rest of the games and activities, and subscribers receive new content as it is added. The listing says there are no in-app purchases for subscribers and no third-party advertising. Purchases made in the app cannot be shared through Family Library.
Pre-downloaded content plays without Wi-Fi or an internet connection. The Wear OS version includes a free Groove with Groot experience, where a child mixes their own tunes and triggers Groot's dance challenges from a watch tile. A Groot watch face with extra complications is also available.
