What kind of merge puzzle game this is
Merge Magic! is a merge puzzle game from Gram Games Limited, which says it made the game after Merge Dragons. Most of the play is combining things: two eggs merge into a creature, and two creatures of a kind merge into a stronger one.
It suits people who enjoy collecting and combining objects over a long stretch of play, and who like puzzles with a fantasy story running behind them.
Merging eggs, trees and creatures
The merge board takes eggs, trees, treasures, stars, magical flowers and mythical creatures. Eggs hatch fairies, unicorns and minotaurs, along with hybrids such as Butterphants (butterfly and elephant) and Peacats (peacock and cats).
The listing puts the object count at over 500, spread across 81 challenges. Each object can be matched, merged and interacted with, so the collection grows as you work through them.
Puzzle levels, events and rewards
Each puzzle level asks you to match items to win it. Rewards from a won level go back to your Garden, where they are collected and grown.
Along the way you can meet evil witches, who you have to avoid or deal with carefully. The developer also runs frequent events where you can win more advanced creatures and take them back to the Garden.
The garden, the curse and optional purchases
The story is that a curse has settled over the garden and its creatures' home. Fog spreads over the land, and you clear it to lift the curse and restore the garden as you merge more objects into it.
The game is free to download. It includes optional in-game purchases, including random item purchases, and drop rate information is shown in the game. In-app purchases can be turned off in the device's Settings.
What's new
The Sakura Spell event blooms back into view, bringing along a charming new Hachi companion! Meanwhile, in Biosynth Eden, a sleek new Neonpaw has powered up.
