What Mobile Link for Generators is for

Mobile Link for Generators is a companion app for automatic home standby generators and the propane tanks that feed them. The listing says it works with units from Generac, Centurion, Honeywell, Eaton and Siemens.

It is aimed at homeowners who want to see from a phone or tablet whether their backup generator is ready, how much fuel it has, and when it next needs service.

Checking generator status and getting alerts

The app shows the generator's current operating status and any maintenance coming up. You can set alerts for changes in that status, so you are told when something shifts without having to open the app.

Both features work from wherever you are, which is the main purpose the listing gives for the app.

Maintenance records and propane fuel levels

You can log service visits and keep detailed records of the generator's maintenance history in one place. The listing describes this as a way to manage past work as well as record new work.

Fuel is tracked on the propane tank. The listing presents fuel readings as a way to avoid running out, which would interrupt power.

Scheduling exercise runs and ecobee integration

Exercise runs can be scheduled remotely, so the generator is tested on a set routine whether or not you are at home. The listing ties this to keeping the unit ready for an outage.

For households with an ecobee thermostat, the app links to it so generator status can be seen on the thermostat inside the home.

Cellular monitoring upgrade and dealer support

The listing describes an upgrade to cellular monitoring as a way to improve coverage and reliability of the connection to the generator. It is presented as an option beyond the base monitoring.

The app also connects you with certified Generac dealers for service and maintenance, so repair requests can go through the same app that shows the generator's status.
