What Mondri is and who it suits

Mondri is an AI image generator with two starting points: a text description or a photo you already have. Its listing presents it as a tool for making pictures without design training.

The app suits people who want to produce artwork from a written idea, or who want to change the look of existing photos. It is built around generating and reworking images rather than drawing them by hand.

Generating images from text prompts

Text to image is the first mode. You describe the picture you want in a prompt, and the app generates several options from that one description so you can compare them.

The listing describes this as the way to start from nothing but an idea. The variations feature below is how you narrow down from there.

Restyling and editing your own photos

Photo to art takes an image you upload and restyles it. The listing also lists editing, enhancing and extending the image, which covers changing the photo itself rather than only its style.

The listing refers to these as pro tools, but it does not name the individual editing functions beyond the four actions above.

Refining results with quick variations

Quick variations let you refine a generated or uploaded image, remix it into new versions, and repeat the process until the result is close to what you want.

In practice a session can move between the three modes: write a prompt, take one of the options, vary it, or upload a photo and work from that instead.
