What Monster Killer Pro is and who it suits

Monster Killer Pro - Shooter is an action game from the developer Gem Jam, built as a roguelike. Its summary lists weapon crafting, monsters, magic and a dungeon setting, with bounty hunting as the theme. It is rated USK 12+ and has 500,000+ installs on Google Play.

The description opens with the stories of Jack the Ripper, a suspected Van Gogh pseudonym, and Axlar-Björn, the Icelandic serial killer. It suits players who like action roguelikes and dark, monster-filled settings.

Crafting weapons and shooting monsters

The summary names weapon crafting as one of the game's core systems, and it is the first system the listing mentions. The weapons are what you use against the monsters, so crafting sits at the centre of the shooting.

Shooting is the basic action, which the game's category and title both point to.

Monsters, magic and dungeon runs

Monsters are the enemies the summary names. Magic sits alongside weapons as a second way to fight them.

Play takes place in a dungeon of evil, which the summary presents as the game's main setting. Each run through it is a roguelike attempt.

Bounty hunting and the serial killer hook

The summary casts the player as a bounty hunter. The description ties the game to real serial killer history: Jack the Ripper, the Van Gogh theory, and Axlar-Björn, described as the only known serial killer in Iceland's history.

The copy uses these figures as its hook, asking whether the player could compete with them.
