What MTR Mobile covers for MTR commuters
MTR Mobile is an app from MTR Corporation Limited for people who use the MTR network regularly. It combines journey planning, train timing, network news and a points rewards scheme in one place.
Most of the app is aimed at daily travel, so the first screens are built around routes and stations you already use. The rest of the app adds news and rewards on top of that.
Planning trips and checking next train times
The Trip Planner estimates how long a journey will take and shows the next train arrival times on the same screen. It also shows car occupancy, so you can see how crowded the train is before you board.
The homepage lists suggested routes and the next train arrivals for your frequent station. This saves searching for the same route each day.
Service updates, promotions and MTR news
The app carries MTR service updates, so you can check for disruption before you leave. It also publishes promotions and lifestyle articles from the network.
The news content sits inside the same app as the journey tools, so checking a service notice and planning a route happen in one place.
Earning and redeeming MTR Points
MTR Points are earned through several kinds of spending. These include riding the MTR, shopping at MTR Malls and Station Shops, and buying tickets and MTR souvenirs through the app.
Points can be redeemed for free rides and other rewards. The app is the place to track them and use them.
Playing games in Game Arcade
Game Arcade lets you play games inside the app and earn MTR Points while you play. The listing presents it as something to do during a commute.
Points earned in Game Arcade go toward the same rewards as points from rides and purchases.
