What My Files is for
My Files is the file manager OPPO publishes, with ColorOS listed as the developer. It suits anyone who wants to see what is stored on the phone and find it again without opening folders one by one. The listing groups the main tools into sorting, searching and general file management.
The sorting and search tools work together, so a file can be found by its category or format and then narrowed further. Storage clean-up, compression and backup sit alongside them in the same app.
Sorting photos, videos and documents by type
Files are grouped into photos, videos, audio, documents, APKs and archives. Within documents, the listing says you can filter by file format, so PDFs, spreadsheets and other document types can be viewed separately.
APK files get their own category, which makes installer files easy to find and remove once they are no longer needed.
Narrowing a file search by date, source and format
Search results can be filtered by date, source, type, category and file format. Combining these narrows a large set of files quickly, for example to the documents saved in a given week.
The listing does not describe how search is ranked or how far back it indexes, so the filters are the main way to control results.
Recent files, storage clean-up and compression
A recent files view shows what was opened or added most lately, which saves hunting for something that was just downloaded or captured. The app also lists a free up storage feature for clearing space.
Files can be compressed from within the app, which reduces the space a set of files takes up. Backing up files is listed as a separate function, alongside compression and clean-up.
Tags for keeping files easy to find later
Tags can be added to files, giving you a label you can search or sort by later. The listing mentions tags alongside the other management tools without going into more detail on how they are applied or filtered.
The listing ends its feature list with 'and more', so further tools beyond those named may be present, but the specific ones are the ones described above.
