What the myChevrolet app is for

This is a companion app for owners of Chevrolet vehicles. It runs on a phone and connects to the car over a data connection, so you can reach the vehicle from wherever you are. The listing groups its features under finding the car, checking its condition, preparing it before a drive, charging, and getting help.

Which functions appear depends on the vehicle, the phone and the plan you are enrolled in. The developer notes that mobile app functionality is available on select devices only.

Starting, locking and preparing the car remotely

The app can remotely start, lock and unlock the vehicle, so you can start the car from indoors or lock it after you have walked away. It can also set your preferred cabin temperature ahead of time, so the interior is already at that setting when you get in.

These remote commands depend on the vehicle and your enrolled plan, so not every model will offer every one.

Checking vehicle health and charging

The app shows fuel level, tire pressure and oil life, and the listing says it reports other vehicle status items as well. These readouts let you check the car's condition from the phone without going to it.

For charging, it shows the current charging status and can locate charging stations on a map. Both depend on the vehicle and plan, as with the other features.

Trip planning, roadside help and dealer service

You can plan trips and get turn-by-turn navigation with maps inside the app. The listing does not describe the mapping source, so treat map detail as the developer's claim only.

If you need help on the road, the app can send a Roadside Assistance request. It can also schedule vehicle service and find your dealership, which covers routine maintenance without a phone call.
