Checking your Equifax report and score

The app shows your Equifax credit report, with updates the listing describes as daily. It also gives a daily score update from one bureau, Equifax, and lets you track how that score moves over time.

You can set a target score and the app will show progress toward it. The listing says that checking your own credit does not affect your score. The scores are VantageScore 3.0. A one-bureau score uses Equifax data, while the three-bureau version draws on Equifax, Experian and TransUnion data. Third parties may use different scores when they assess you.

Optimal Path AI credit action plan

Optimal Path is an optional tool, free to use, that you opt into. It analyzes your credit profile and produces a personalized action plan with simple steps to improve your credit over time.

The plan is built from your own file, so the steps will depend on what Equifax holds for you. You can opt out again if you no longer want it.

Paid plans: dark web scans, alerts and family cover

The Equifax Complete Premier plan gives yearly access to your report and score from Equifax, TransUnion and Experian. It adds credit monitoring alerts for key changes to your Equifax report, a dark web scan, and support from ID specialists if you have to recover from identity theft.

The dark web scan checks for your Social Security number, up to 5 passport numbers, up to 6 bank account numbers, up to 6 card numbers, up to 6 email addresses and up to 10 medical ID numbers. It searches thousands of sites where personal data is suspected of being traded. The listing says those sites change often and are not all published, so it cannot guarantee every site is searched.

The Equifax Complete Family Plan includes everything in Premier. It also lets you add a second adult, and lock and monitor the Equifax credit file for up to 4 children.
