A team-strategy monster RPG
Neo Monsters is a paid role-playing game where you catch monsters, form a team and fight with them in turn-based battles. Each side fields four monsters at a time, so the team you assemble before a fight shapes the outcome as much as the moves you pick during it. The developer rates it USK 16+.
It suits players who like planning team makeup and working through a long single-player story. Online duels are available for those who want to test their teams against other people.
Capturing and evolving monsters
The game lists over 1000 monsters, each with full animation. You capture them, train them, and gather evolution ingredients to push them into stronger forms.
Teams can hold up to 16 monsters, so the collection doubles as a bench of options. Evolution depends on the ingredients you have gathered, which means progress comes from exploring and fighting as well as from catching.
Turn-based 4v4 battles
Battles run in turns, with each side choosing actions from the abilities its monsters carry. The developer describes chain strategies that link abilities from a pool of hundreds, so you plan sequences of moves rather than single attacks.
Because each team can contain up to 16 monsters, the choice of who enters a fight is a strategy decision in its own right.
Campaign, leagues and dungeons
The single-player campaign runs through six Leagues and ends with a fight against the Grand Champion. The developer puts the total at 60+ hours of play.
Along the way you travel across multiple islands and enter dungeons. The story follows a plot that uncovers what your late uncle was responsible for.
Online PvP duels, missions and events
Online play lets you duel players from around the world in PvP leagues. The developer also lists more than 100 online missions.
Weekly events are updated on a schedule and offer rewards for taking part.
