What the new build changes
Version 2.2.224 of QR & Barcode Scanner reached the APKCube archive on 6 October 2026. It replaced 2.2.221.
The changelog for this version, as listed by APKMirror, says two things changed. The slide animation on the result screen has been removed, so results open instantly. Remote configuration has been replaced with values built into the app.
In practical terms, the first change affects what happens right after a scan. The result screen now appears without the transition. The second change concerns where the app gets its settings. The changelog says they now come from inside the app rather than from a remote source.
What the app does
QR & Barcode Scanner is a free tool from the developer Gamma Play. It reads QR codes and barcodes through the phone camera. According to the developer's Google Play listing, scanning starts on its own once the camera is pointed at a code, with no button press or zoom adjustment.
