New build of Viber arrives

Version 28.11.0.0 of Rakuten Viber Messenger reached the APKCube archive on 5 October 2026. It replaces 28.9.1.0, which arrived on 29 September.

The developer's Google Play notes for the release are general. They say the Viber experience has improved, ask users to update, and invite them to leave a rating or review. They do not name a specific feature, fix or change.

What Viber is

Rakuten Viber Messenger is a messaging and calling app from Viber Media, part of the Rakuten Group. It handles text chats, voice and video messages, stickers, GIFs and file sharing, plus voice and video calls between Viber users.

According to its Google Play listing, group chats hold up to 250 members and group video calls up to 60 people. It also has communities and channels, disappearing messages, and end-to-end encryption that the developer says is on by default for chats and calls between Viber users. Viber Out, a paid service, covers calls to landline and mobile numbers.
