What the Newspoint news app is for
Newspoint is a news app run by TIL (Times Internet Limited), part of the Times of India group. The developer describes it as a source of daily city news and short news updates, pulled from national and international publishers.
Stories come in a brief format, so the app suits someone who wants to see what happened today without opening full articles. It is aimed at readers of Indian news in their own language.
Reading Indian news in 14 languages
The developer lists 14 languages: Hindi, English, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Marathi, Bangla, Gujarati, Urdu, Oriya, Punjabi, Assamese and Nepali. Each one has its own live news updates.
The listing says the updates draw on more than 1000 of what it calls the most read and reliable newspapers. A reader who follows regional news in one of these languages can use the app without switching to another source.
Following cricket, football and World Cup scores
The listing names live sports coverage for cricket scores, football updates and World Cup scores. It is one of the main areas the developer highlights alongside general news.
A person who wants match results and sports headlines in the same place as their daily news would use this part of the app.
Health, fitness and lifestyle news
Beyond headlines, the developer lists news updates on lifestyle, wellness, health and fitness. These sit in the same feed as the general news and sports updates.
The app is therefore a single place for topics someone might follow for everyday life, not only for current events.
Election news, video, photos and live TV
The listing's summary line says the app carries election news updates, videos, photos and live TV. These are the media types it advertises alongside its text updates.
Someone following an election or wanting video and live broadcasts alongside written updates can use these parts of the app.
