Recovering dismissed notifications on Android

Notification History Log stores notifications as they arrive, so a message you swiped out of the tray can be read again later. It works through notification access, and the log starts only after you install the app and grant that permission. Notifications that arrived before then are not captured.

The developer says the log is kept in the phone's own storage and that the developer has no access to it. Ads appear in the app.

Browsing and searching the Advanced History screen

The Advanced History screen is where most of the work happens. It shows deleted messages and earlier notifications with their details, and a search box that covers the full log. Notifications are grouped by the app that sent them, so you can follow the order they came in.

You can mark notifications as favorites so they are easy to find again, and filter the list to narrow what you see. Clearing the log is available from Settings, or you can remove the history for one app only.

Exporting, backing up and filtering the log

Export writes the notification history to a Text file or an Excel file. Backup saves the notifications in encrypted form to phone memory, and a restore brings them back after you reinstall the app. Export and backup both require the Pro Version.

The Blacklist option lets you pick apps whose notifications should be ignored in the log. A homescreen widget shows the log without opening the app, and the Pro Version also adds dark and light themes. Those three are Pro features too.

Using Android's built-in history and setup for some phones

On supported devices, the app can turn on Android's own Notification History and open it from within the app. You enable this under App Settings.

On Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo phones, the developer says you must turn on Autostart for the app, and exempt it from any battery saver, RAM cleaner or speed booster you use. A troubleshooting screen in App Settings is meant to cover the most common problems.
