What the counting game covers

Numbers for Kids is an educational game for young children who are starting to count. The developer aims it at preschool learning, with numbers 1 to 10 and 20 as the core range.

The listing also describes counting games and early arithmetic, and it calls the collection 123 kids math games. It is meant as an alternative to other screen activities at the preschool stage.

Tracing and tapping for fine motor skills

A child traces each number with a finger, so the digit shapes are practised by hand as well as seen. The tracing tasks are described as building fine motor control.

Tapping tasks sit alongside the tracing. The developer says these, together with the memory element, are meant to support a toddler's early counting and hand coordination.

Finding the lost clock numbers

The game's story starts with the numbers blown off a wall clock by a strong wind. The child has to find them and put each one back in its place on the clock.

The numbers are hidden in a lake, in a house and in outer space, so the search takes the child through three different scenes.

Counting past 10 and simple arithmetic

Once the child knows the early numbers, the listing says the game moves on to counting to 10 and beyond, including up to 20. The counting games are presented as the next step after tracing.

The developer lists arithmetic as a goal of the app, so the same counting practice is meant to lead into simple sums.
