What PawTrail is and who it suits

PawTrail is a logic puzzle game for Android in which you place dogs on a grid. Each level gives you numbers that tell you how many dogs sit next to a given cell, and you work out where every dog goes from those clues alone. The listing classes it as a game and rates it for ages 3 and up.

Placing dogs and paw print territory

You double-tap a cell to place a dog. When a dog is placed, paw prints spread out from it along its full row and column, forming a cross. The prints stop when they reach an obstacle on the board.

No cell that already has paw prints can hold another dog, so each placement rules out other spots. To finish a level, every cell needs either a dog or paw prints on it.

Reading the number clues

A number on the board tells you how many dogs are adjacent to that cell. A 0 means no dogs touch it, and a 3 means exactly three do. The listing recommends starting from the extreme numbers, such as a 0 or a 4, because they give the most information about nearby cells.

Before you commit to a dog, you can trace where its paw prints will reach. This helps you check whether a placement would block a cell you still need.

Marking cells and pacing a level

A single tap marks a cell with an X, which records that the cell is ruled out. The developer suggests using these marks to keep your reasoning visible as you go.
