Photo Widget

What Photo Widget is for

Photo Widget is an Android app for putting your own photos on the home screen. The developer describes it as a picture frame widget app, similar to Locket Widget and Widget Smith. It is aimed at people who want a home screen built around their own pictures rather than stock wallpapers.

The listing frames the app around decorating the home screen with favorite photos. Each widget you add shows a photo you have chosen, so the home screen changes with the pictures you pick.

Placing photos on the home screen as widgets

The main use is adding a photo to the home screen as a widget. The listing says these widgets can use high-resolution images, so a picture can stay sharp at the size it is placed.

A picture frame widget gives a photo a border-style presentation on the home screen. The app supports several photo layouts, so the same picture can be arranged in different ways depending on the widget.

Grouping photos into albums and viewing them

Photo Widget can organize several photos into one album. An album lets you gather a set of pictures under one widget instead of placing each photo separately.

The app also includes a full-screen view for images, so a photo can be opened large from within the app.

Free widgets and similar apps

The listing says the widgets are free to use for editing the home screen. It names Locket Widget and Widget Smith as similar tools, and describes Photo Widget as offering comparable photo widget features.
