Plane Finder - Flight Tracker

What Plane Finder is for

Plane Finder is a flight tracker and flight radar for Android. It shows where planes are in real time, so it suits two kinds of user: people waiting on a flight or waiting to collect someone from one, and aviation enthusiasts who want a live map of traffic.

The app is free to download. It also offers an optional premium subscription.

Tracking a specific flight and its delays

You can look up any flight or plane worldwide and see its position in real time. The app sends flight status notifications to the home screen when a flight is delayed, diverted, departs or arrives. For someone picking up a passenger, the delay alerts for arrivals are the part that matters most, since they show when the plane is likely to land.

Watching air traffic on the radar map

The radar map has a focus mode that brings military and other traffic types onto the screen quickly, live. You can also filter the map or highlight a traffic type, and combine several filter criteria at once. That lets a spotter narrow the map to, say, one category of aircraft without losing the rest of the picture.

Globe view and playback of air traffic

Flights can be followed on a 3D globe view instead of a flat map. The app also plays back both live and historic air traffic, so a movement from an earlier time can be replayed on the map. The listing does not describe how far back the historic data reaches.

Planning with past and future flights and events

A timeline calendar view lays out past and future flights in one list by date, which is useful for checking a schedule ahead of a trip. The Explore feature shows trending live aviation events, for anyone who opens the app without a particular flight in mind.
