pointMoA computes the bullet path and helps you check what actually happened on the target — at the range and at home, in dry fire. It runs entirely on your phone — no account, no sign-in, no internet.
CALCULATOR
• 3DOF point-mass model: gravity, aerodynamic drag and steady wind.
• G1 or G7 ballistic coefficient, always with the model stated explicitly.
• Atmosphere: temperature, station pressure and humidity.
• Wind entered as a clock direction, plus uphill and downhill shooting angle.
• Zeroing solved numerically, including sight height over the bore axis.
• Output: position relative to the line of sight, drift, time of flight, velocity, energy, Mach number, and the correction in MRAD, MOA and clicks.
• Table with your own step and zero markers, trajectory chart, interactive target at real dimensions and PDF print.
• Advanced mode: rifle cant, wind direction in degrees, spin drift with a stability factor, horizontal Coriolis effect, BC in velocity bands and an uncertainty budget.
• Transonic zone marking and a sentence on what an error in wind or BC costs.
• Air guns: muzzle velocity from energy and pellet mass.
DRY FIRE
• Laser cartridge or constant laser: the phone on a tripod watches a printed target (A4–A2) and records the laser spots as shots. The image is analysed on the phone, offline.
• Modes: free, scored, 14 drills (incl. Bill Drill, Dot Torture, IDPA 5×5, El Presidente), hold, laser pre-zeroing and the Polish PZSS proficiency test.
• Dry fire tab in the Logbook, statistics in Progress and a PDF report. Dry-fire data never mixes with live fire.
ARMORY
• Firearms and air guns, optics and ammunition saved once, reused in every calculation.
• Built-in suggestions: 692 firearm models, 391 sights and 591 ammunition entries across 32 calibers.
• Every ammunition entry links to the manufacturer's data; 532 carry a ballistic coefficient.
• Firearm card: round count, cleaning counter, service log with part replacements, photos, a report graphic and a Ballistics tab with the profile from the Calculator.
TARGETS
• Interactive target at real dimensions: mark shot holes with a tap, pinch to zoom in.
• Mean point of impact, extreme spread, mean radius, P50/P90 and distance between holes.
• Shot-hole recognition from a target photo — in beta: check the suggestions before accepting them.
• Zeroing sheet in PDF, with control lines to verify print scale.
LOGBOOK, HOME AND PROGRESS
• Sessions and competitions: range, firearm, ammunition, shots, targets, photos and a checklist; a report image to share.
• Home with a calendar and a "Next visit" line; Progress with overview, analysis, goals, personal records and insights computed from your own targets — with an honest "not enough data".
• Ranges: address, opening hours, distances, prices, rating and club membership fee.
DATA AND PRIVACY
• Backup of all your data to a JSON file, with no size limit.
• The app collects nothing and sends nothing. No accounts, no cloud, no telemetry. Everything stays in your phone's storage.
• The app asks for the camera only for dry fire and "Photo with assist"; the image stays on the phone. It never asks for gallery or location access.
WHAT THE APP DOES NOT DO
• The result is a prediction and needs confirmation by live fire at the range.
• The calculation range reaches 600 m.
• It does not run 4DOF or 6DOF models or the vertical Coriolis component.
• It does not download weather — you enter the atmospheric data yourself.
LANGUAGES
Polish, English, German, French and Czech.
pointMoA is a calculation tool for people who shoot legally, at a range. The app does not sell firearms or ammunition, does not lead to a purchase, and contains no instructions for manufacturing them.
