PunBall

A roguelite RPG built on block breaking

PunBall casts you as a lone mage fighting an evil Shade that has spread across a land once shaped by Zeus. The developer describes it as a roguelite and RPG combined with block breaker gameplay, and presents it as a spin-off of Archero's intellectual property. It suits players who enjoy runs that can end in failure and begin again.

Magic, skills and builds

The hero uses magic and a set of skills, and the listing says more than 100 are available. The developer says these combine in infinite ways, so the mix of abilities can change from one run to the next. The listing does not describe the skills individually.

Block breaking and stage progression

The fights are paired with block breaker gameplay, where you clear blocks to advance. The developer lists thousands of stages to work through. Progress through them forms the main structure of the game.

Restarting after a defeat

Losing is the main setback. According to the developer, a defeat sends you back to the beginning, so the run starts again from scratch.

The listing describes the controls as simple to pick up. The game is rated USK 12+.

The story behind the game

The story begins with a land that Zeus once built into a civilization, until Zeus grew idle and the Shade appeared to bring waves of evil. The mage is presented as the only one who can push back the darkness.
