This page needs its stylesheet to be shown
The app listing, the version table and the download step are laid out by this site’s stylesheet. With stylesheets switched off, or blocked before they arrive, none of that layout exists, so the page is not shown.
Allow CSS for this site — including in any content blocker or privacy extension that may be stopping it — then reload the page.

Readest is an open-source ebook reader for people who read a lot and want their books, notes and reading position to stay with them across devices, according to the listing. It opens most common ebook formats in one app, including EPUB, PDF, MOBI, AZW3, FB2, CBZ, TXT and Markdown files.
The features fall into four groups: how a book looks on the page, where books come from, how notes are kept, and how the text is read aloud or translated. Readers who work through several books at once, or who study a text closely, are the people the feature list is aimed at.
You can read in paginated mode, where each screen is a page, or in continuous scrolling mode, with page-turn animations in either. Fonts, themes, line spacing, margins and column layout are all adjustable.
Vertical text is supported for CJK books. The listing says the display is built for e-ink screens, with contrast adjusted for slow-refresh panels. Up to four books can be open at once in side-by-side panels, which suits comparing editions or working from a source while writing.
Readest can browse and download from OPDS catalogs and public libraries. If you keep a Calibre or Calibre-Web server, you can connect to it, and the listing says covers and metadata come through with the books.
Once books are on the shelf, you can sort them into custom bookshelf groups and run a full-text search inside any book to find a passage by its wording.
Highlights, bookmarks and structured notes are saved against the text they refer to. You can copy a highlight together with a deep link that opens the book at that passage, and export your annotations from the app.
The notes and reading progress are described as following you across devices, so the same annotations can be picked up elsewhere.
Text-to-speech uses voices you can download for offline use, and the listing says it works with Android Auto, so a book can be read aloud in a car. Translation covers a single sentence, a full page, or an entire book.
While reading, you can look up a word or topic in Wikipedia or a dictionary without leaving the page you are on.
The build we hold is Readest: EPUB & PDF Reader 0.12.10 (APKS split bundle) for Android 8.0 and up.
