Replaio Radio is a radio player for Android. It covers two kinds of station: traditional FM and AM broadcasts from your area, and internet-only channels from other countries. The listing says it works on phones, tablets and Android Auto, so the same station list is available in a car as well as at home.
It suits people who listen to live radio every day and want one place for both local stations and music-only or foreign channels. Someone who mainly plays their own music files would get less from it.
The station catalogue is listed at more than 50,000 stations. Local FM and AM stations sit alongside internet channels, and internet stations can be browsed by music genre. There is also a set of music-only stations for people who want songs without talk.
Each station has a link to its own website, so you can read more about the broadcaster without leaving the app. The developer describes this browsing as quick and simple.
The radio alarm clock wakes you with a chosen station and includes a snooze option. The sleep timer stops playback after a set time, so a station can play you to sleep and then switch off.
Favorites can be saved in an organized list. The app can also send reminders for favorite radio programs, so a show you follow does not start unnoticed.
Android Auto support lets you pick and play stations through your car's head unit. Chromecast support sends the stream to a compatible device on your network, so the same station can run on a bigger screen or speaker.
The developer says the app is designed to use little mobile data and battery, which matters for long listening sessions on a phone away from Wi-Fi.
An equalizer lets you change the balance of frequencies for the station you are hearing. It is useful when a particular broadcast sounds thin or boomy on your speakers or headphones.
The equalizer works on any station the app plays, so the same settings carry across FM, AM and internet channels.
