What the ResearchGate app covers

ResearchGate's mobile app brings its research network to a phone. It has three main parts: a library of publication pages, a directory of researchers, and a personal view of your own work's stats. The listing gives the library as more than 150 million publication pages and the directory as more than 20 million researchers.

Using the app requires a registered ResearchGate account, and users must be 18 or older. It is aimed at people who already work in research or publish, since the stats and follower features depend on having a profile.

Searching for papers and saving full texts

You can find publications across the network's library of publication pages from your device. The app lets you download full texts and keep them on the phone, so you can open them again later when you want to read them.

Saved papers are for reading on the go. The listing describes them as available to read whenever you choose.

Following researchers and keeping up with a field

The home feed shows updates from the people you follow, along with new research the app considers relevant to your field. You can also browse the directory of more than 20 million researchers to find people who work on similar topics, including potential collaborators.

Following and feed features depend on your ResearchGate account, so the feed reflects who you have chosen to follow.

Tracking reads, citations and your Research Interest Score

The stats section tracks how often your work is read and cited, along with your Research Interest Score. Weekly reports summarise these numbers, so you can see changes without checking each day.

The app also sends notifications when other people interact with your work. These stats are tied to your registered account.
