What this Android printing plugin does
The Samsung Print Service Plugin is a system tool that adds wireless printing to Android. The developer, HP Inc., says it works with Samsung printers and many other brands by building in Mopria, a printing standard. On Samsung Galaxy phones it comes pre-installed. On other Android phones and tablets, it is installed as a plugin.
The listing presents it for people who print from a phone or tablet at home, at work or away from both. It is meant to remove the need for a separate printing app.
Printing photos, pages and files from apps
Once the plugin is in place, you can send photos, web pages, documents, coupons, recipes and other files from the apps you already use to a wireless printer. The listing describes this as printing without downloading an extra app or printing tool.
Because the plugin handles the connection to the printer, the printing itself starts from the app that holds the content, not from a separate printer utility.
Setting color, copies and double-sided output
Before a job prints, the developer says you can change the color mode, the number of copies, the paper orientation and whether it prints on both sides of the page. These are the settings most people reach for when printing a document or a photo, and they are the ones the listing names.
The listing does not describe any settings beyond these four.
Mopria and the printer brands it supports
The listing says that nearly all new printers sold today are Mopria-certified, and it names Brother, Canon, Dell, Epson, Fuji Xerox, HP, Konica Minolta, Kyocera, Lexmark, Pantum, Ricoh, Samsung, Sharp, Toshiba and Xerox. Mopria is the link that lets the plugin find and print to these models over a wireless connection.
A printer that is not Mopria-certified falls outside what the listing describes, so the plugin's support for it is not covered here.
