Sat finder — dish pointer. Align & set satellite dish with an AR dish aligner
Satellite Finder: Align Dish — description
Check which satellite or orbital position your satellite TV service provider specifies for your home. Select it in the app, point the dish in the calculated direction and confirm reception using your satellite receiver.
SATELLITE TV DISH ALIGNMENT
Select the satellite used for your TV service. This satellite finder shows:
• Azimuth — the horizontal direction to point the dish
• Elevation — the vertical dish angle
• LNB skew — the recommended LNB rotation
• Satellite position and orbital longitude
Use these angles as a dish aligner for a new installation or an existing home TV dish. Set satellite dish angles, then check signal quality on your receiver or set-top box.
DISH POINTER
Compare your phone heading with the calculated azimuth to see which way the satellite dish should face. Use the sat pointer outdoors before mounting or adjusting the dish antenna. Keep your phone away from metal equipment while using the satellite pointer.
AR SATELLITE FINDER
Open the AR satellite finder view to see the approximate satellite position. Check whether trees, walls or buildings may block the line of sight between your home dish and the broadcast satellite.
MAP AND LOCATION
Detect your location or enter coordinates manually. View satellite direction on a map to choose a place for dish installation.
SATELLITE TV SERVICE SETUP
Satellite television providers deliver broadcasts to a home dish, LNB and compatible TV receiver. Your provider's setup instructions may identify the satellite used for your service. Choose that satellite in this dish finder app to calculate pointing angles for your location, then use your receiver to verify reception.
POPULAR SATELLITES FOR HOME TV
Configure a home TV dish for common North American satellites used for television reception, such as:
• Galaxy 13, Galaxy 14, Galaxy 15, Galaxy 17 and Galaxy 19
• EchoStar 10, EchoStar 14, EchoStar 16 and EchoStar 18
• SES 1, SES 2 and SES 3
• AMC 10, AMC 11, AMC 15 and AMC 18
• Anik F1, Anik F2 and Anik F3
• Nimiq 4, Nimiq 5 and Nimiq 6
• Intelsat and Telstar satellites
Satellite availability depends on the app's database and your location. Check that the satellite specified by your TV provider is available before starting dish alignment.
USE THIS DISH FINDER APP TO
• Install or realign a satellite TV dish
• Point a dish toward the satellite used for your TV service
• Calculate azimuth, elevation and LNB skew
• Set satellite dish angles for home TV reception
• Check the line of sight with the map and AR view
• Compare dish pointer heading with the target satellite
ACCURACY NOTICE
Angles are calculated from your location and the selected satellite's orbital position. Compass accuracy depends on your Android device's sensors and nearby magnetic interference. Calibrate the compass and keep your phone away from the metal dish and mounts.
Satellite Finder is an independent alignment utility. It does not provide satellite TV subscriptions or channels, unlock encrypted broadcasts, or measure the actual signal strength received by your satellite receiver.
