What the tool is for and who uses it

Satellite Finder (Dishpointer) is an Android tool for aligning a satellite TV antenna. It takes your location and reads the phone's sensors, then calculates the direction the dish needs to face.

The developer names home users, hobbyists and installers as its audience. It is meant for setting up a new dish, realigning an existing one, or checking the direction to a chosen satellite before fine-tuning the dish itself.

Choosing a satellite and getting its direction

You pick the satellite you want to receive, and the tool calculates the pointing direction for it from your location. The listing says results depend on that location, the selected satellite and the device's sensors.

The output is guidance for preparing an install or adjusting a dish. It does not measure the signal itself.

Map guidance, sensors and AR display

The direction is shown on a map, which the listing describes as guidance to use while working at the dish. The phone's sensors feed into that calculation, so the phone is held and turned as part of the process.

The listing summary also names an AR display for locating the target and a BISS key finder. The main description does not explain either feature in more detail.

Where it fits in a dish installation

The developer presents the tool as a planning and alignment aid. It helps organise the pointing before the final adjustment and reception check.

The listing says it does not replace a receiver, a signal meter or a clear view of the sky. Those are still needed to confirm the dish is receiving the satellite.
