SB3 File Opener & Player — description
Open, inspect and play .sb3 project files on your Android phone or tablet.
SB3 File Opener & Player gives you a local way to view and run compatible Scratch projects. Select an SB3 file from your device, check project details, browse its assets, and play supported animations, stories and games without uploading the project.
Open SB3 Project Files
Open .sb3 files from Android file managers, Downloads, email attachments, cloud storage and other supported apps. You can also choose an SB3 file directly inside the app.
Play Projects Offline
Load and play compatible SB3 projects locally on your device. Supported projects can run without uploading them to a website or remote conversion service.
Fullscreen Project Player
Enjoy animations, interactive stories and games in a dedicated player with:
• Green flag start • Stop and restart • Pause and resume • Fullscreen playback • Portrait and landscape support • Fit stage to screen • Sound and volume controls
Virtual Game Controller
Many SB3 games are designed for keyboard input. The built-in on-screen controller can provide:
• Direction and arrow buttons • WASD controls • Space button • A and B action buttons • Custom key mapping • Press, hold and release input
Controller options may vary depending on the app version and project.
Touch Input
Interact with compatible projects using your touchscreen. Tap sprites, move the pointer and use touch controls in supported animations, stories and games.
Explore supported resources stored inside an SB3 project. Depending on the project, you may be able to:
• Preview costumes and backdrops • Play project sounds • View sprite information • Inspect project.json • Save individual assets • Extract project resources
Recent Projects
Quickly reopen recently viewed or played SB3 files. Recent project information is stored locally on your device.
Local and Private
SB3 files are processed locally. The app does not automatically upload your project files, code, images, sounds, file names, file paths or project content.
Compatibility
SB3 is the project file format used by Scratch 3 projects. Many standard animations, stories and games are supported, but compatibility can vary.
Some projects may not work completely if they depend on:
• Cloud variables or online services • Camera or video sensing • Text-to-speech services • Hardware extensions • Custom JavaScript extensions • Unsupported TurboWarp extensions • External devices such as micro:bit or LEGO hardware
Large or complex projects may perform differently depending on the Android device and available memory. The app does not guarantee compatibility with every SB3 project.
