Shuffles by Pinterest

What Shuffles is used for

Shuffles is a collage app from Pinterest for putting images together into a single picture. The listing points to planning a festival outfit, mapping out a bedroom, or building a moodboard for a personal aesthetic. It also covers looser work, such as collages that are strange or funny for their own sake.

The collage is built from cutouts of real objects, so the result is closer to a hand-assembled cut-and-paste sheet than a filtered photo.

Cutouts from camera and photo library

You can snap an object with the camera and it goes straight into your material for the collage. If you have no photo of the thing you need, the app includes a large photo library to browse for ideas and pieces. A single tap cuts an object out of any image, so you keep only the part you want and drop it into the layout.

Arranging and animating collages

Each cutout can be layered above or below the others, then rotated and resized until the composition works. Animations and effects can be added to the pieces, so a finished Shuffle can move rather than sit still.

All of these tools work on the same canvas, so a collage can be reworked in one place from first object to final effect.

Sharing and remixing with friends

A Shuffle can be shared privately with friends, which lets several people collaborate on one creative project. You can also remix another person's Shuffle and put your own spin on their arrangement, starting from the layout they made.
