What the live wallpapers are and who they suit

Silly Smile Live Wallpaper is an Android app that replaces a static lock screen with an animated face. The listing describes its wallpapers as 4K, funny, cute or spooky, and says they are built to move rather than sit still.

The category suits people who want a lighter, more personal phone screen. It is aimed at a general audience, and the listing gives a content rating of 3+.

Picking a funny, cute or spooky face

The listing says you choose from a silly smile, a funny face or a spooky grin. Each face is offered as an animated wallpaper, so the choice sets the style of the lock screen.

According to the listing, the chosen wallpaper comes to life as soon as the phone is unlocked. The animation is the feature the app is built around, so the face moves each time the screen wakes.

How the 4K animation is presented

The developer describes the wallpapers as 4K live wallpapers. The listing says the faces move and laugh, which is the main difference from a still image on the lock screen.

Because the wallpapers are live, they run on the lock screen itself. The listing does not describe any controls for speed or motion, so the animation is presented as one fixed effect per face.

Free download and Play install count

The app is listed as free to download on Google Play. The store page shows more than 100,000 installs.

The listing is for an Android app, so it is installed from Google Play like any other app and then set as a live wallpaper from the phone's wallpaper settings.
