What Simple Calendar is for

Simple Calendar is a calendar and schedule planner for keeping work, school, family and personal plans in one place. It can run entirely on the device with no account, or it can sync with a Google account.

The free version shows ads. The Premium subscription removes them and also unlocks all theme colors, unlimited wallpaper and date background color changes, and priority support.

Viewing days, weeks and months

The monthly calendar gives the overall picture. The weekly planner comes in 7-day, 5-day and 3-day versions, and the daily agenda lays out a single day hour by hour.

Time blocks can be color-coded so work, study, exercise and time with family stand out at a glance. Date backgrounds can be colored to mark paydays or exam days, and event text can be white, black or a color. Week numbers and regional public holidays are shown on the calendar.

Adding events, notes and reminders

One tap opens the planner. From there you pick a time, add an event or a task, and write a note. An alarm or appointment reminder can be set on any event.

Events can carry notes, URLs and map locations. Recurring events and saved templates speed up regular entries, and a single event can be added to several dates at once, which suits shift schedules. The calendar widget can be resized and shows today's agenda on the home screen.

Syncing, backup and moving to a new phone

Google Calendar sync keeps the same events on every device signed into that account. Calendars from Outlook, iCloud, Exchange and Office365 can also be connected, so schedules from several services appear in one app.

Calendars that exist only inside the app can be saved with the built-in backup and restored on another device. Events already synced with Google Calendar return on a new phone once you sign in. The developer also describes sharing calendars with colleagues, family or a partner so everyone can see the same schedule.

Appearance and privacy settings

The planner offers 50 theme colors and 10 font sizes. A photo can be set as the background.

A passcode lock can be turned on to keep the schedule private.
