What Soccer Stars is and who it suits

Soccer Stars is a football game built around flicking the ball rather than running a player around a pitch. The developer, Miniclip, describes it as a game for playing against friends, with online and offline modes in the same package. It is rated PEGI 16.

The listing presents it as simple to learn, with matches aimed at head-to-head play. It suits people who want short football games against other people more than a long single-player career.

Flick shooting and ball physics

Shots are made by flicking left or right. The listing says the ball physics are a core part of the game, and it advises blocking the opponent's view of the goal to set up a flick. Aiming and reading the other side's position are the main skills it asks for.

Penalty kicks are part of the game as well. The listing frames them as a moment where the flick has to be placed precisely.

Online, offline and friend matches

Online play pits you against players from around the world. The listing says tiers are split by country, so matches are grouped by where opponents are from. Online tournaments are one of the main ways to play this way.

You can also log in with a Facebook account to challenge friends directly. Offline play lets two people share one device for a match with no connection needed.

Collecting teams, cups and World Cup play

The World Cup mode lets you play against any club or national team in the game. The listing presents this as a way to work through your friends and move up to the cup.

You collect different teams and cups, and the listing says collected teams are how you customize your side and show off your nation's colours. Optional in-game purchases are available, and the listing notes that these include random items.
