Solar Manager is aimed at owners of a photovoltaic system who want to see where their electricity comes from and where it goes. The developer describes it as a tool for visualizing and optimizing self-produced power. It brings the panels, the grid connection and any battery into one set of screens.
The main dashboard shows the most important figures for the PV system at a glance. Owners who want to understand their setup, or who already run a solar installation and want more control over its use, are the people it is built for.
An energy flow view shows how power moves between the solar production, the electricity grid and the battery at any moment. This makes it clear whether the house is drawing from the grid or running on its own generation.
A seven-day quick view summarizes production, self-consumption and electricity bought from the grid. It gives a short history without opening the detailed charts.
The developer lists the same views found in its web application as available in the app. These include detailed monthly views, day views and the Autarkiegrad, which is the self-sufficiency share of the home's electricity use.
Because the views carry over from the web version, someone who already uses the web application will find the same breakdowns on a phone.
Car charging can be configured to use only solar power, or solar power combined with a low electricity tariff. This decides when the charging station draws from the panels rather than the grid.
Connected devices can be ranked by priority. The listing names hot water, heating, the car charging station and the battery as examples, so solar power goes to the chosen devices first.
From Q4, the app predicts PV production for the next three days. Owners can plan around expected sunny and cloudy spells rather than reacting to them.
Alongside the forecast, the app gives recommendations on when to use particular devices. These suggestions are tied to the predicted production.
The build we hold is Solar Manager 1.24.3 (APKS split bundle) for Android 8.0 and up.
