Harness the power of space and embark on an epic journey of creative destruction with Solar Smash, the ultimate physics-based sandbox simulation game!
Senior reviews editor
Solar Smash is a physics sandbox from Paradyme Games, listed under Simulation, in which you control gravity, collisions and destruction across planetary systems. It has two modes, Planet Smash and Solar System Smash. The listing rates it Everyone 10+.
It suits people who like setting up a scene and watching the physics play out, whether they want to arrange orbits carefully or pull everything apart.
Solar System Smash lets you start with one of three star systems, one of them our own Solar System, or build a star system from scratch. You place planets in it and set their orbits. The listing says planets can range from the tiniest asteroids up to massive gas giants.
The build we hold is Solar Smash 2.7.5 (APKS split bundle) for Android 7.0 and up.

From there you can stage planetary collisions or create black holes that disrupt the orbits around them. The listing presents the mode as a route to endless cosmic simulations.
Planet Smash is the destruction mode, with more than 50 weapons aimed at planets and moons. The list runs from energy weapons such as lasers, railguns, orbital ion cannons and laser swords, to explosives like nukes, antimatter missiles and meteors, and on to supernovas and black holes.
Ships and creatures are included as well: UFOs, battleships, space fighters, giant monsters, space shibas and celestial beings. Defensive options such as shields and defensive satellites are listed alongside the attack weapons.
The developer describes the gravitational interactions as scientifically accurate. Bodies set on collision courses trigger events the listing calls cataclysmic. Tearing planets apart, causing supernovas and creating black holes that consume whatever is nearby are all listed as results of your actions.
Exotic star systems add artificial megastructures such as ring worlds and giant moons with planetary force fields. Destruction works in both familiar solar systems and these exotic ones.
The controls are described as easy to use for beginners and experienced players alike. Because the game has flashing lights, the listing warns that it may be unsuitable for people with photosensitive epilepsy or other photosensitive conditions.
The space imagery is credited to NASA's Scientific Visualization Studio, NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center and the Space Telescope Science Institute.
