Sound Bar Remote

What Sound Bar Remote is for

Sound Bar Remote turns an Android phone into a remote control for certain Yamaha sound bars. It suits people who own one of the models named in the listing and would rather adjust the sound bar from their phone than reach for its handset.

Every function the listing names is a control function: changing volume, choosing an input and picking a sound mode. The app does not describe itself as a setup or streaming tool.

Adjusting volume and switching inputs

Volume up and volume down are the basic controls the app offers. You can raise or lower the sound bar's level without the original remote.

Input selection lets you switch the sound bar to a different source from the phone. Both controls work through the same screen, so changing a source does not require a separate tool.

Choosing a sound mode

The app includes sound mode selection, which lets you change the listening mode on the sound bar from the phone. Sound modes are the one control here that alters how the audio is shaped rather than how loud it is or where it comes from.

Connecting to a supported Yamaha sound bar

The app connects to the sound bar over Bluetooth, searching for a nearby device and pairing with it before the controls become available.

The listing names these models: B200A, SR-B40A, SR-B30A, SR-B20A, SR-C20A, SR-C30A, ATS-B400, ATS-B300, ATS-B200, ATS-C200, ATS-C300, YAS-108 and ATS-1080. The app is built for those models, so check the sound bar's model name against the list before installing.
