What Special Forces Group 2 is

Special Forces Group 2 is a 3D first-person shooter played in real time, published by ForgeGames Mobile and rated PEGI 16 on Google Play. It is built around gunfights between teams, and it can be played alone against computer-controlled bots or with other people.

Each match runs on one of more than 30 maps. Teams have 8 characters each.

Bot matches and multiplayer over the internet or Wi-Fi

The single-player side pits you against bots, so you can play without other people online. For multiplayer, the app supports online matches and play over a local Wi-Fi router, which suits a group in the same room or building.

Maps and team sizes are the same across both ways of playing, so the choice comes down to whether the opponents are bots or people.

The nine game modes

The app has nine modes: Classic, Resurrection, Capture the Flag, Zombie Mode, BombMode, Knives, Deathmatch, ArmsRace and Sniper. Capture the Flag and BombMode are the two that the modes' names point to objectives, and the rest vary the way a round is fought.

Because the modes sit on the same maps and weapons, switching between them changes the match without changing the controls you already know.

Weapons, skins and gear

The weapon list covers 9 pistols, 4 shotguns, 6 submachine guns, 12 rifles, 5 sniper rifles and 3 machine guns. Players also get 3 grenade types and 3 bulletproof vests.

Weapons can be dressed up with any of 134 skins. Skins only change how a gun looks, so they are the cosmetic layer over the same arsenal.

Languages and menus

The game is available in 10 languages: English, Russian, Spanish, German, French, Japanese, Chinese, Turkish, Portuguese and Indonesian. Players who read one of those languages can use the menus and match screens in that language.
