Spectrum TV

What the Spectrum TV app is for

Spectrum TV is the companion app for the Spectrum TV service. It brings live channels and On Demand catalog content to Android, so the same programming can be watched at home or away from it.

Its main jobs are watching, finding shows, and operating the Spectrum receiver and DVR from a handheld. The DVR and receiver features depend on your Spectrum equipment, as described below.

Streaming live TV and On Demand titles

Live TV streams to the phone or tablet wherever there is a connection. The On Demand library holds thousands of shows and movies that can be played at any time.

You can also cast from the phone or tablet to a TV that supports Chromecast, so the picture moves from the small screen to the living room set.

Finding shows with a guide, search and watchlist

You can build a personalized guide by marking your favorite channels, which keeps the listings you care about near the top.

Search covers titles, networks, actors and sports teams across the whole app. Spectrum Originals can be saved to a Watchlist to come back to later.

Controlling your Spectrum receiver and DVR

The app can change channels on a Spectrum Receiver and show program times. Recording shows and movies requires the optional DVR services.

On a compatible DVR, recordings can be deleted, modified and played on the TV. Only compatible DVRs support this, so it does not apply to every Spectrum setup.

Parental controls across household devices

A PIN turns on parental controls, which can block shows by channel or by rating. The blocks apply to every device in the household rather than to one device at a time.
