Ordering ahead and paying in store

You can place an order in the app while on your way to a store, and customize the drink to your preference. The app can save custom drinks and show your past orders, so a usual order is quick to repeat. Favorite stores can be saved for quick selection.

Payment methods can be saved in the app and scanned at the register to pay. Tips for your barista can be added through the app as well.

Rewards Stars, levels and member perks

Rewards members earn Stars that can be redeemed for free food and drinks. New members start at Green and can move up to Gold or Reserve, which the listing describes as carrying exclusive benefits. Members also get early access to new items, and reloading a Starbucks Card digitally with at least $30 earns Bonus Stars. Games and offers tailored to the member are included.

The birthday drink changes with level. Green members can redeem it only on their birthday, Gold members have 7 days from their birthday, and Reserve members have 30 days, all at participating stores. The drink must be standard menu size, excludes alcohol and multi-serve items, and requires at least one Star-earning transaction in the year before the birthday.

Mod Monday gives members one free customization each month, up to $2 before tax. It cannot be combined with other Rewards or offers, discounts or promotions.

Storing Starbucks Cards and sending eGifts

All of your Starbucks Cards can be kept in one place inside the app. From there you can send an eGift by email, text message or another messaging app. The listing mentions a choice of designs for different occasions, so the gift can match the event.

Finding a Starbucks store nearby

The store finder shows locations close to you, with directions and opening hours for each. It also lists amenities at each store, including drive-thru and Wi-Fi, so you can check before you go.
