Stellarium - Star Map is a planetarium app that shows exactly what you see when you look up at the stars.

Stellarium - Star Map is a planetarium app for looking up at the sky. It is built to name what is overhead: stars, planets, comets, satellites and deep sky objects such as nebulas and galaxies. The developer describes a simple, minimalist interface and aims it at both adults and children.
It is made by the original creator of Stellarium, the open source desktop planetarium. The mobile app is the same sky engine in a phone form.
The build we hold is Stellarium - Star Map 1.16.8 (APKS split bundle) for Android 9.0 and up.

Pointing the phone at the sky shows which stars, planets and satellites are in that direction, in real time. You can also set any date, time and location to see an accurate simulation of the stars and planets for that moment, which suits planning a look at a past or future event.
Satellites, including the International Space Station, can be tracked across the sky. The solar system planets and their moons are shown as 3D renderings. Sunrise, sunset and atmospheric refraction are simulated for the landscape and horizon.
The base catalog includes many stars, nebulas, galaxies and star clusters. You can zoom in on Milky Way and deep sky object images. Constellations are drawn using the shapes and illustrations from many sky cultures, so you can see how the same stars are grouped in other regions of the world.
A night mode switches the display to red. The listing says this is meant to keep your eyes adapted to darkness while you observe.
Stellarium Plus is unlocked by an in-app purchase. The base version shows objects down to magnitude 10. Plus shows objects as faint as magnitude 22 and adds advanced observing features. Its star catalog is the Gaia DR3 set of over 1.81 billion stars, with about 10,000 asteroids and a combined catalog of over 2 million nebulas and galaxies.
Plus also allows close zoom on high resolution images of deep sky objects and planetary surfaces. Without an internet connection, the app can use a reduced data set of 3 million stars, 2.3 million deep sky objects and 10,000 asteroids.
With Plus, the app can drive a GOTO telescope over Bluetooth or WiFi. The listing names NexStar, SynScan and LX200 protocols as compatible.
Advanced observation tools predict when a celestial object will be observable and when it transits. These are used to plan an observing session in advance.
