What kind of wargame this is

The app is a turn-based WW2 wargame and the follow-up to the developer's Strategy & Tactics: World War II. It drops that game's historical restrictions and turn limits, so a session can run as long as you like.

You take command of a European army and try to win the war from there. You can follow the real politics of the period, or break the historical alliances. The listing's examples include backing the USSR against the USA, or steering America toward conquering Europe. It runs offline.

Maps, countries and the units you send

The maps cover Europe and Asia and are divided into more than 950 regions. Across those regions you can play any of 39 countries.

Each army can be built from infantry, artillery, aircraft and armored vehicles. You send troops to attack a region or to occupy one under siege. Naval play uses four ship types: battleships, cruisers, submarines and destroyers.

Random events that change each game

Random military events are built into the turn cycle. They include guerrilla movements, landing operations and voluntary recalls. The developer says these keep each session from playing out the same way.

Because the events are random and there is no set timeline, two games started from the same country can diverge quickly. Your own choices shape the outcome as much as the events do.

Spending resources on army or research

Resources come from the territories you conquer. You decide where they go: growing your army or boosting R&D. The choice is a standing trade-off between building forces now and improving them later.
