What Super Hearing is for

Super Hearing is a sound amplifier for Android that uses the phone's microphone, or a headset's, to make quiet sounds easier to hear through the speaker or earphones. The developer lists it for lectures, meetings, classrooms, nature walks and home surveillance.

The listing also says it helps people with mild hearing problems and improves awareness of surroundings. Its summary calls it a spy hearing amplifier, and that is the name it is listed under.

Amplifying speech and distant sounds

Sound is amplified in real time, and the listing describes the aim as hearing far-off sounds more clearly. The app is built around spoken words, so it includes background noise reduction intended to make speech stand out.

The developer names this feature Hear Boost, which it describes as long-range amplification. It is meant for picking up a conversation or a voice across a room or a field.

Using earbuds and switching microphones

Super Hearing works with both wired headphones and Bluetooth headphones or earbuds. The listing says a user can move between the phone's microphone and the headset's microphone, so the same session can pick up sound from either place.

Pairing a headset lets a listener keep the amplified sound private, and switching microphones lets them choose whether the pickup is near the phone or near the person speaking.

Recording lectures, meetings and voice memos

The app can record lectures, meetings and voice memos. The listing presents recording as part of the same tool as the amplifier, so a recording can be made of what is being amplified.

The listing does not describe where recordings are saved or how they are shared, so this section stays with what the developer states: lectures, meetings and voice memos can be recorded.
