Texting Messages Home

Texting Messages Home provides SMS/MMS tools and a custom Android launcher without requiring a separate app account.

Set it as your default SMS app when you want to use carrier messaging functions. Set it separately as your Home app when you want to use its launcher.

You remain free to change either choice from Android settings.

CARRIER TEXT MESSAGING

As the selected default SMS app, Texting Messages Home lets you open conversations, compose new messages, reply to contacts and receive message notifications.

Supported phones with multiple SIMs can let you choose an available SIM for an outgoing message.

SMS and MMS are carrier services. Availability, delivery, network behaviour and any charges depend on the device, mobile network and service plan.

MANAGE MESSAGES YOUR WAY

Use text search to find content inside your message history.

Browse supported conversation categories, pin threads for quick access and archive conversations to move them away from the main inbox.

Local read/unread controls are included, along with manual blocking for unwanted conversations.

A recognised one-time code can be copied using the available action. The app does not use this to verify accounts and does not provide financial services.

BUILD YOUR MESSAGE

Choose supported media using Android's system picker, including photos, video and audio.

Take a new picture through an available camera app or select contact information when you want to include it.

Location sharing is optional. If selected, approximate-location permission lets the app add a map link to the draft.

Confirm message recipients and included items before sending.

PREPARE IT NOW, SEND IT LATER

Scheduled messages let you prepare a text for a later time.

While waiting, pending message data and attachment references remain stored locally. The schedule can be cancelled while still pending.

Some supported Android versions may require exact-alarm access.

Scheduling does not bypass normal SMS requirements. The app must still have the correct SMS role and permissions, and your device needs an available SIM and network.

Exact delivery timing therefore cannot be guaranteed.

LOCAL JSON SMS BACKUPS

Use Backup and restore in the Messages navigation area.

Select a storage folder through Android's file picker and tap Backup now to create a JSON file containing supported SMS text messages.

For restoration, select a compatible file, inspect the number of messages and confirm before importing.

The feature does not back up MMS attachments and does not create backups automatically on a schedule.

Texting Messages Home needs to be your default SMS app for both backup and restore.

After restoration is complete, you can keep the app selected or open Android settings to choose a different SMS application. SMS messages already restored into the Android system store remain available after changing defaults.

Backups are not encrypted by the app. Keep the files in storage you trust.

HOME SCREEN FEATURES

Choose Texting Messages Home as your Android Home app to activate the launcher.

Use the application drawer to open installed apps, arrange shortcuts, keep selected favourites accessible and add supported widgets through the built-in widget picker.

The launcher includes clock and date information and quick access to messaging areas such as the inbox and composer.

Simply using the Home screen does not itself require SMS access because Home and SMS are separate Android default roles.

ADVERTISING AND PRIVACY

The application includes advertising. Technical information associated with ads, analytics and crash reporting is handled as described in the app's Privacy Policy and Data safety disclosure.

SMS/MMS communication is not end-to-end encrypted. Android system settings provide control over app permissions and default selections.
